So here we are…round three of the Six On Saturday! I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you this wonderful morning!
- I have never, ever broken a bone!! Can you believe that?! I think I have come pretty darn close to breaking my big toe a time or two, but I have never “officially” broken anything and had to have a cast or crutches or the like.
- I wear contacts…and glasses in the evenings. It came to my attention at a playdate this past week that my gal pals did not realize I had to have the help of corrective lenses so that I can see their smiling faces! It all started my junior year in college…I headed off to the university and quickly realized that I was not able to see the boards. I did wear glasses that year to class and for driving, but the summer before my senior year I started wearing contacts. Only this past November did I get new glasses and begin wearing them around the house in the evenings!! In my mind my sight is TERRIBLE…-1 in each eye, but according to the doc, it really is not that bad!!
- I HATE birds….HATE them! Back to my college days…I drove to Colorado one summer with a friend and while we were there, we drove her dad’s Explorer around. One day we were out cruising with our windows cracked…I am telling you like a two to three inch crack is all my window was opened and low and behold a bird came through!! As it came flying in (in all literal sense of the word!!), it was wounded on impact and was launched into the back seat where it proceeded to flop around a bit and bleed on the seat. We were hysterical of course…I mean, who wouldn’t be???!!! Thank goodness it wasn’t able to fly and was not all over the car. Oh my….now THAT would be bad!! So, we pulled into a gas station, opened up all the doors and she got a broom and pushed the bird onto the ground…its final resting place. Needless to say, since that day many moons ago, I have been deathly afraid, paranoid, and alarmed by birds! I can be buzzing down the road with my windows UP and it never fails that I flinch and hunker down (whether I am the driver or the passenger)…like that is really going to keep us from hitting a bird!! I guess in my mind it makes me feel safer!! :) So now you may be wondering why in the world I have birds on my blog header or what possessed me to host a “bird themed” playdate this week…Well, I just started liking whimsical birds!! They are fun and oh-so popular these days!!
- I am a total sucker for all things polka-dot! LOVE ‘EM!!! Especially on my baby girl! She has some of the cutest little polka dot dresses I have ever seen that I found at Kohl’s a couple of weeks ago if anyone is looking for something fun and happy!!
- I won’t drink beer….or wine or champagne. I don’t like the taste of any of it! Now, give me a Smirnoff Ice or a frozen margarita or daiquiri (preferably strawberry with some frozen lime concentrate!!) and I am good to go!!
- Last but not least, we attended a spring training baseball game last night! I have only been to a couple of professional games in my life and the last one was a Royals game way back when Chris and I were dating! Anyway, we took the kids last night and had a ball! I took TONS and TONS of pics, so be sure to check back in the next couple of days…I have lots to post with that and then our Easter Egg dying and the big hunt in the morning! You’ll be sick of looking at my adorable kids and hearing me babble!!

I knew you hated birds, but I hadn’t thought of the irony of your blogspot header until you mentioned it. So, like everyone else, you may think you’re a simple person, but you’re full of contradictions and therefore, pretty complex after all! I think time is the biggest influence for change. I can see that in my life over and over again. Keep posting! I enjoy all of it. Love, Debbie
