First of all, here is a shot of those beloved canvas prints I ordered a few weeks ago! They came while we were in Napa and we got them up just in time for our company last week! As usual, this tiny little snapshot does NOT do them justice! They are AMAZING and add SO much to our bedroom!! Now I just need to get that phrase ordered to put in the big yellow stripe above the prints. Then it will be complete!!
Somehow or another my 100th post is already here! I obviously post like a crazy person since I haven’t been blogging all that long and am already at this little milestone!! So, in honor of my 100th post I decided to do something fun! First of all, I know I am not a super crafty superhero like some others I know, but there are LOTS of you who check in on us every day or two and I thought it would be fun to get you involved!! And I happen to have a WHOLE LOTTA ribbon just itching to go to a new owner! So here’s the deal…leave me a comment with either a link or an idea of something creative to do with ribbon and you will be entered in the drawing! The more links/ideas you leave, the more times you get entered! Capiche?!! The deadline is Saturday night…I will randomly draw the winner Sunday morning so get your ideas in!!!
I really just came up with this little idea yesterday afternoon. I was working on some bows for Gentry and the kids were rummaging around in all my ribbon making a HUGE mess. Needless to say, I had to pretty much start from scratch and re-roll most of my ribbon!! It got me to thinking that I have WAY more than I need and how fun it would be to share! So, there is the story behind the giveaway!!
Here is a “before” shot…the “Ribbon Circus” as Huntler called it! It was more like a zoo if you ask me!! Ay, ay, ay…
And after…I always have ribbon in that jar! It is so fun and happy and a great little decoration for my craft area!!
Here are the three bows I made that started this whole thing!! I am thinking I need to make a smaller version of the “funky” bright bow for Miss Gentry! This one is kinda big for her little pigtail! And since she isn’t so much into headbands these days, it is all about the clips!!!
And the oodles and oodles of bright, fun, happy ribbon I am giving away – different widths and lengths!! (Sorry…the jar is NOT included but you can pick one up at Target!!)

Okay, let’s see . . .
Have you seen these ribbon butterfly hair clips on Etsy? Several shops carry them, but I like this pretty one from the Buggy Baby Bows shop:

look at all that fun ribbon!!!
hi bethany! i use ribbons sooo much! my scrapbook room is also dubbed the ribbon room by my hubby! So, here are my uses:
1) hair pretties for Lily
2) scrapbook layouts
3) card making
4) to hang my ornaments of the christmas tree
5) to wrap prezzies
6) to make cute ribbon window and shower curtains
When I used to teach–I made tons of ribbon “flyers” by attaching lots and lots of long soft ribbons to a small metal craft ring (a size perfect to fit on a child’s wrist or easy to hold) and we’d dance around to music, waving our ribbon flyers all over the place. was quite a pretty picture!
Gotta love ribbon!

I’d love to use some of those bright, cheery ribbons for my card & invitation making! Great idea… and I love those jars! I’ll have to stop at Target next time I’m in Wichita!!
I’ll show you how to make cupcakes for some of that yummy ribbon!
Hmmm…I could definitely use those ribbons on my scrapbook books but I would really like to use them for my sunday school class as well as my kindergarten class!

beth,
zach and I were reading your post today. and I have to say that zach is very impressed with your room!! he loves the design!!:)
oh yea, i’m on the hunt for ribbon ideas:)
ok here’s a couple cute ideas:
1. make a flower out of the loops of ribbon then put a button in the center:)
2. take a metal picture frame and on one side loop ribbon around it. when your finshed tie a bow in the center
i’ll keep looking, but i thought those were cute ideas
I just adore ribbon and find myself buying it everytime I go into Micheal’s, obsessed is what some people may call it!
I just used a bunch of ribbon to tie around the edge of a scrapbook! It had an opening for a photo for the front cover and I just tied oodles and oodles of ribbon around it and spiced it up a bit, okay a lot! The new owner loves it though:)
Loving your blog, I found it through Joy’s Hope:) I’m tagging you as one of my favorites even if I don’t win:)
OOh! Look at ALL these comments!! I love way your room is coming together. And all the ribbon looks like a ton of fun…Wow that’s a lot of ribbon! Talk to you later.

Thin ribbon makes an excellent necklace when a certain 2 year old yanks every chain you own until they break and all you are left with are orphaned charms. Not that it’s ever happened to me (50 times).
Did someone say ribbon??
How about wrapping ribbon around headbands for a new look? I believe you have to sew the ends (perhaps hot glue?)
Also, you can tie different ribbon pieces on a rubber bands (rubber bands you use for styling hair- not office supply quality) and the look as almost like a something a cheerleader would wear- peppy and fun! I have seen this at craft fairs and always wanted to try it…
Thanks for the great giveaway! Lori
Well congrats on your first 100, and just a little note of encouragement to carry on! I love blogging. I just found your blog for the first time because I clicked on a comment you made somewhere else! I love visiting colourful new blogs! Hurray!
Congratulations on your 100th post. Love, love, love ribbons… Hope I am chosen.
Well, I have two things.
One is you get a piece of wood, can be rectangle, circle, or oval. I’d say between 12 and 24 inches. Paint it real cute with Gentry’s name on it. Then you staple gun some of rhe ribbon you have on the back allowing the ribbon to hang down. You clip on Gentry’s bows on the ribbon and hang it on the wall for a cute way to organize.
Also, one of my friends made a cute little place for kids to walk through the doorway at a birthday party, by somehow hanging a bunch of ribbon from the top of the frame.
Sorry, I forgot to leave my name in the last post. Ha Ha It’s Brandy!
I am LOVING all of these comments and suggestions! Thank you all for stopping by and brightening my day!! SO fun!!
WoW I would love to win this give away! But I am also happy to just look at the post… I love those FUN and HAPPY colors!

this is my first time to your site.
i love those canvas prints!
i am itching to get some made of our family.
i came over from joy’s hope.
your bows are cute too. my girls are not into bows unfortunately. i am lucky if a barrette is in to hold back the long bangs.
count me in for the drawing…i can always use ribbon!
sorry i forgot my idea for you….
i use ribbon to close up pillow covers with button holes…instead of buttons.
or shower curtains…instead of curtain rings?
Look at all your comments! I bet you are in heaven. The pictures are adorable in your room, they look perfect. I’ve been walking around my house trying to figure out where I can do that too!!

Bethany, I just found your blog. Love the colors, etc. I love ribbon. I’m thinking you should head over to this blog…http://nestingplacenc.blogspot.com/ Have you heard of the Nester? She made these ragamuffin garlands and you could use your ribbon in one fo them. It could be very cute…

Hi, I love your site! So fun! I am a ribbon LOVER! My husband laughs at me.
I have not officially started blogging but thought I would add my project to my blog so I can show you. It is a $.49 cent canvas from Michaels and I just added ribbon around it. A very cute gift. I am giving it to my sister in law so she can put it on her cubicle at work.

Love your blog! I just bookmarked it.

I know you’re enjoying this! I forgot to say last time that I LOVE the canvas prints. They turned out awesome. Great job. AND of course…I wanted to be entered again, so here’s idea #2: I’d use them for my “Altered Things” class at the art center this summer. I have 12 little girls in there that all LOVE ribbon and we use it on all sorts of projects. One of their favorites is always tying it all down the spiral of a notebook and altering the front cover to make a journal.
WOWZA!!!! THIRTYONE COMMENTS!!!!!! WHEW! You’ve GOT to feel connected now – even if you are out in the middle of the desert! Those canvas prints add SO MUCH to your room – unbelievable! I can’t wait to visit to experience them in person. Very cool! You’ve got to just love laying in bed looking at them. I love the ribbon circus picture and put it as my desktop background. I can easily envision the whole event that day, C U soon!
Oh, and I visited Lisa’s blog. REALLY enjoyed it. I can see why you two are such good friends. So much in common and individually enthusiastically creative to spur each other on. Very happy for both of you that you are such great friends.
Love, Debbie
Hi Bethany~
One can never have enough ribbon! I use wide ribbon as handles on my tooth fairy pillows and thinner ribbon to embellish the paper bag albums I make. You can see each of these in my etsy store: http://www.teojax.etsy.com
Thanks for the opportunity for the ribbon.

I just found your blog. I love all the color and fun.I am in need of ribbon for some artwork I’ve been working on. Please check out my blog at:

Ok, I’m off to read some of your previous entries!
Ribbon is also good for getting into by the 6 year old and tying it around the dog’s neck and walking her around the house (whether she wants to or not) and then being left strung all over the house (still attached to the dog) and then found by the 16 month old to tie the dog up further. Not like that really happened or anything – just saying it might be a good idea!!! LOL!!
Those canvas prints turned out great!
Cheers!

And kudos to whomever was in charge of hanging those suckers so straight!
(ps, I can’t even tie a bow, so don’t put me in the running for the ribbon. I just wanted to comment on that cool room!)
PS – thanks so much for the link in the sidebar. What a nice compliment!
