So I somehow managed to whip out my super cute, plumeria scented and oh-so sparkly little cupcake soaps without a problem! They are done, ready to be packaged up and passed out at the party! (I’ll take pictures to share – don’t worry!!) Now, the lollipops on the other hand are giving me some trouble!! AHHHHHH!!!
I managed to get all the little heart “sprinkles” and the toppers painted in without a problem. It is time consuming, yes, but not overly challenging. And then I even got the brown in for the first batch of wrappers. No biggie! But the white for the color of the actual cupcake? Ay ay ay!!
I bought a little bottle at Michael’s the other day to melt my chocolates in and then squeeze the chocolate into the mold. Seems simple, right? Well, it isn’t rocket science by any means but I have yet to perfect the technique, and for a perfectionist, that is hard!! Not to mention that we had a lollipop making playdate yesterday and Lindsey warned me the bottles would melt…and what happens to me? My one and only bottle melted!! Looks like it is back to Michael’s for me!!
The first batch are sitting in the fridge as I type. Once I am done I am going to check them out!
I did stick the mold in the freezer between each step (there are three steps) this time and although I am sure it helped a lot, I still had some issues with the brown running into the white. And the back is CERTAINLY not as smooth as I thought it would be! I am racking my brain trying to remember if the ones I ordered off of E-bay last year were super smooth and perfect…but for the life of me I can not recall!!
I should not worry about it…these are for little munchkins ages one to about four. They could care less! They won’t even look twice at them before they stick them in their mouths!! And although I won’t be losing sleep over this, it sure would be nice if they turned out how I see them in my mind!!
By the way…I made a super simple practice batch of these lollipops the other day and when I got one out of the fridge for Huntler, he said, “Wow Mom, these are AWESOME. Cool!” What?? What is my almost four year old doing talking like an eight year old?! It did make me smile though that he noticed the details in them! That’s my boy! The poor child is doomed with two perfectionistic parents – he will be as detail oriented as they come!!

)
I have found some great blogs through Once Upon a Blog too!
Hey
You have NO idea how many bottles I have melted!! HAHA!! I have learned my lesson and buy a few more then I need
!! The lollipops I made for my sisters shower were bumpy in the back… and it drove me NUTS.. but no one noticed! I am sure they will be adorable!! I am excited for the party! Aiden LOVES cupcakes and I am sure he will be in heaven! See you soon!!
I would love to know how to make those soaps!!
I would also love some party ideas! My daughter is turning five and so far I think I am just going to have some friends over in the backyard and have a water party. I am going to fill up a bunch of kiddie pools, get water guns and balloons, ect…
For the cake I am going to use cupcakes and group them together to make a huge flower. One cluster will be yellow and grouped to make the center. Another group will be pink and will line the center as the petals. Green cupcakes will make the stems…
At least that is my tentative plan!! That is why I loved the cupcake invites so much-they are perfect for that.
I am just at a loss for what to do next…
