Tidbits, Treasures and Self Control

First of all…thanks to everyone who stopped in and left me a comment on my last post! I thoroughly enjoy reading them all and linking to the different blogs that are following along my blogging journey!! There will be more fun party stuff to come, but I am taking a break from that for a day or two and getting caught back up on life!!

So, we went to the bounce house yesterday and just like the last time we went, the kids had a ball!! They ran and squealed and jumped and bounced their little hearts out! They were hot, thirsty, sweaty little munchkins by the time we headed home, but it was well worth it!
Here are a couple of pictures from the day! I took about 130, but just a few were worth saving! The lighting was not great and there were SO many kids and so much chaos that it just wasn’t working out well! But hey, at least I managed to capture some memories on camera and we will forever have a piece of that fun to reflect back on!
Here is Huntler being the amazing big brother that he is. I certainly did not tell him to do this…Gentry is quite capable of getting up these stairs on her own…but he took it upon himself to be responsible for her from time to time! And I happened to snap this picture just as he was being that considerate big brother!!

And here is Huntler in a not so great moment! The kids were SO good the entire time, but we had one “incident” that had Huntler in a great deal of distress! Since school is out there were lots of non-obeying big kids there who were not serving as great examples on the impressionable little ones like Hunt. They were going down head first on their tummy’s which is apparently a big no no. I am not quite sure why, but the lady that worked there kept getting onto them. Well, of course Huntler sees this and thinks HE can go down head first on his tummy. And this upset, crying child is what happened when I explained that he could not act like the big boys and had to go down on his bottom. The fit was fairly short lived. He got a drink, sat down and rested for a few minutes and was back at it again until they shut the place down and kicked us out!!

Okay…I mentioned a couple of days ago that we were going to visit a brand new baby yesterday afternoon! We did and she is ADORABLE!! Not even a month old and tiny as can be! She was awake the entire time we were there – just listening and taking it all in!! Seriously, I should not be holding and visiting new babies…I want one!! Anyway, I checked out her nursery while we were there and what do my wandering eyes happen on to?? The CUTEST bag I have EVER seen in my life! The colors were so bright and happy and the design looks so similar to my blog…I was in heaven! So, I found out where she got it and came home to do a little online research…of course. For any of you super trendy moms out there, you have probably heard of Fleurville. I thought I was pretty “with it” in the whole fashion sense, but somehow or another I had missed out on these bags! Which being said is probably a good thing…but MY OH MY!
Here is the bag she has and the one I want!

Cute, hunh?! But holy cow are they expensive! This exact bag is just a mere $85…marked down from $150. Yeah…every other print pattern is $150, but this one just happens to be on sale. Had it just been full price I wouldn’t have even let my mind go there, but being on sale…you know, you have all been there! Maybe not on an $85 bag, but on something!! So then I hopped on to E-bay and found one on there for $70 and – with shipping it would have been cheaper than the one direct from the company. I have had the page pulled up all day on E-bay looking and lusting, but the auction is over and I did not bid. Believe me I wanted to…I would have gotten it because it didn’t sell, but I exerted more self control than I cared to and refrained from buying the darling but ridiculously expensive bag!!
I tried to justify it in EVERY way possible, but Chris just wasn’t going for it! I mean, I am pretty low maintenance in reality. We do like nice stuff, but when it comes to me, I am low key. I buy 99% of my clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, etc from Target and Kohl’s. The most expensive thing in my make up bag is some $12 Mary Kay eyeliner. Seriously. I don’t own any super fancy Jimmy Choo shoes, no Coach purse, no Juicy Couture tracksuits, no top of the line make up…but for some crazy reason I want that bag! Am I crazy?? Ahh…someday.
To change the subject from the beloved bag, it is HOT down here! It is absolutely miserable! I dread getting out and going pretty much anywhere…loading and unloading the kids wipes me out and makes me grumpy when it causes me to break out in a sweat!! To give you an idea…I am always, always cold. The air the house can be on 82 and I am cold. In the car I often have my seat heater on because I am cold! I’ve always been this way. But not these days! I noticed that both times we were out and about yesterday I had the air conditioner on as low as it would go and full blast. We stopped at Sonic and were in the car for quite some time and I never once got cool enough to need to turn it up. That my friends means that the dreaded summers are upon us! The forecast was showing 109 and 111 for all week! And lows in the mid 80′s. UGHH! There may be no trip to the stadium to see the fireworks for us this 4th of July! I just can’t get excited about sitting outside sweating. I am thinking watching what we can from our own back yard by the pool sounds pretty darn good to me!!
And one more thing before I get back to work! I am not going to ruin any surprises for anyone, but holy cow you need to watch The Bachelorette again if you haven’t! And “The Men Tell All.” It was crazy last night! Chris watches it with me and we were cracking up…this season has been a crazy one for sure!! I just hope DeAnna finds what she is looking for and has an amazing life!
And on that note, I am off to get an ice cream sandwich and get back to work! (I haven’t had an ice cream sandwich in YEARS, but saw them at the grocery store yesterday! YUMMY!)

Glad you didn’t buy the bag. Hehe… now I can! Super cute and totally unnecessary, but I love me a good bag!

Looovvvee that bag. I love color and expecially orange. Wild Child would have been right with Huntler when he followed the big kid’s example! Then Cutie Patootie would have had to do it too because she has to do EVERYTHING Wild Child does. Looks like fun though!

That bag is sooo adorable! You have much better self control than I do…I would have caved and bought it!

The Bachelorette WAS good last night…am I pathetic that I’m giddy with anticipation for Monday to get here so I can watch the finale and ball my eyes out?!?! I like both of the guys, and I’m sure I’ll cry for the broken-hearted one and for the one that gets the girl!

Anyway…all your party stuff looks amazing! I was salivating over the cupcake lollipops!!

I was just looking for ribbon online for a client and found adorable cupcake ribbon. If you’re interested… it’s under printed ribbon at http://www.theribbonretreat.com

    Have a great day!

Your posts are making me hungry!! Love the recipe and all of your “cupcake” goodies :)

I have to say that you should totally get the bag!! I have the same style bag and I LOVE it!!! Now I would never pay the $150 it retails for, as I too am a Target shopper. I kept checking ebay and found my bag, won it and the gal actually lived in my city so I saved on the shipping and met her at our local grocery store. I felt like it was meant to be :)
The bag is so functional and of course stylish. You would have it forever, I know I will!
