Flashback Friday!

Lately is has occurred to me that we have VERY few studio pictures sitting around. Well, to be perfectly honest, we have very few photos sitting around period because I am just not one for clutter. (Click here to see our photo wall and a peek into our family room!!) But of those we do have, we only have two that were taken at a typical studio. These two pictures sit on the table in our entryway and make me smile every single time I see them!!

This is Huntler around his third Halloween. He was 25 months old (October 2006)…the same age that Gentry is now. I can barely remember him being so little and it wasn’t even all that long ago. I REALLY can’t believe that I had a 3 month old when he was that age either!!
Anyway, this is one of the cutest little costumes ever! It was a real bummer because he was sick that Halloween and our $60 costume just got boxed back up, but there is no price that can be put on this sweet little face in my mind!!

Now for the sasafrass! This was taken in April of 2007…her nine month photos. The last time we have been in a formal studio!! I LOVE this shot! This is the ONLY good one out of the entire session, but man is it good!! She looks like a little doll!!

So while I am sharing I’ll share a few more from these same two sessions!!
This one was taken at the same time as the monkey costume shot!

And this one just cracks me up. Gentry was such a chub!!

So, that is it on the picture front but I have a couple of places to send you to check things out. First of all, I LOVE the style of this photographer…Skye Johansen. Her editing style is right up my alley! She does GREAT work! So I was checking in on her a couple of days ago and what do my little eyes see? She had just done a photo shoot for a baby named Gentry! Of course it caught my attention because it is certainly not a common name! Check her out…she will inspire you!
And since I was talking about photography studios above and also mentioned that it wasn’t really my style the other day, I could SO handle a studio like this one!! WOW is all I can say!! I made Chris look at it and he was pretty impressed too!
So…then we did what we haven’t done in FOREVER last night. We laid in bed and talked about the future. You know…what kind of house we want when we move home, where we want to live, where our home office will be placed (off of the bedroom because I HATE where our current office is!), and of course a fun little studio for me!! Ahhh my mind is reeling!
Way back in the beginning of our relationship we used to talk about this stuff ALL the time. These days we are doing good to talk about what we need from the grocery store. It isn’t that we don’t communicate, because we do, but it just isn’t the same as it was way back when! So, both of the kids were in bed. The TV was off (an extreme rarity!), the computer was off (also an extreme rarity!), the iPhone was charging and the laptop was still in Chris’ bag. The shade was up and SPECTACULAR lightning was lighting up the night sky and we just talked.
I wish our little chat would have somehow produced the magic answer to when exactly it is we get to move home, but it is still fun to think about our house and our future!
And on that note I better get to work!! The kids and I hit up a REALLY fun little bead shop this morning (yes, I took my two small children into a place PACKED with beads galore – doesn’t everyone?!!), dined on a FABULOUS lunch of chicken nuggets and fries while Huntler played in the McDonald’s playplace and then we even stopped in and got Huntler’s hair cut! We have had one busy day!!
Have a fabulous holiday weekend!!

Love the pics of the kids! It’s fun for me to see them when they were younger since I only just met them this year! We haven’t been to the studio in awhile either…but we did get these awesome family pictures taken last year…now we just need to add another munchkin to the photos!

You can never have too much time to love, share and hear what’s on each other’s hearts. Those are the times you realize how much you truly cherish one another. It’s a time when you can take stock of your life, the one you’ve been living and the one you hope to live someday.

May you always find joy in giving to others and a peace that envelopes you knowing how very much you are loved.

    Love, Debbie
