So it is no huge secret that I was pulling for ANY birthday theme but trains. Anything else that one little almost four year old could dream up, I was okay with!! But one look at this guy in his little conductor hat (left over from his train bash when he turned two!!) and I wonder WHAT in the world I was thinking. Seriously. Cute. Boy. Love him to pieces!! And if he wants a train birthday party next month, then a fabulously fun train birthday party he will have!
I had this *brilliant* idea yesterday that we were going to stop at a train park while we were out running errands!! However, reality quickly set in and the thought of loading and unloading the kids in the 110 degree heat AND trekking around to get shots just was not at all appealing. So I decided to go with the next best thing and take Huntler out on the front porch and work with what we had!! This way we could wait until it wasn’t quite as hot (you know, just 107) and we could run inside if we were overheating!! (Anyone who knows me knows how much I HATE to sweat…I was sweating buckets to get these images!!)
I took over 100 shots and have quite a few I am in love with! I still have lots of editing to do, but wanted to go ahead and share these! Somehow or another I am going to have to pick one of the 38 remaining images (I deleted a ton) for his invitation!! I am still not quite sure how I am making that yet…I am HOPING to make it train shaped but we’ll see!!
Anyway, we are having a wonderful weekend! Chris spent the entire day with us yesterday! We ran errands and when we got home everyone napped but me! After that I took Huntler out for his little photo shoot and then we swam, ate pizza rolls on the pool deck, played Candyland, popped popcorn and watched a Ratatoulie. Yep…sounds fun, hunh?!! We didn’t even start the movie until 9:30 and needless to say I fell asleep and Chris put Gentry in her crib at some point, but what a FABULOUS day!!
Here are just a couple of images!!
Oh, and one other thing! You may have noticed I added a little “Twitter” section on the sidebar!! I have seen it on quite a few blogs and sites, but last week I noticed that Tonya added it to her blog and I thought it was fun to read about what she was up to at random times during the day. Needless to say, I thought it would be fun to let you all know what I was up to during random times too!! So, thanks Tonya!! I love this idea!!
And on that note I am off to work some more!!

Wow Bethany! These are amazing!! Seriously, PERFECT! Did you shoot in manual?
Party planner and photographer! Love your photos – you have an eye for it!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend…..and I heard we are only getting up to 108 today! Woohoo! We did get a sprinkling of rain last night over here. Just enough to dirty the windows we washed yesterday morning!

I couldn’t resist the train party either….he is such a cutie. Love his cap turned sideways!
He looks so grown up! I love the pics though, they look exactly like the ones I pay a lot of money for! You are doing great!

Your pictures are amazing! Huntler is soo cute! Maybe an idea for his invitations, how about a “ticket” or “boarding pass.” I did this for my sons 2nd birthday but it was Backyardigans and it was a ticket to like a broadway type show. I did that because the day after the party we went to their tour show. It was too cute, and people raved about it. A picture of course was on the card as well. Just though it would be a neat idea.
Good luck with your planning, you sound very creative!
Also, thanks for the bachground information. Very helpful! I’ll be working on that soon =)

The hat alone is worth the giving in to the Train extravaganza. Amazing pics. Mr. Model Man!
Huntler is so adorable in the engineer hat!!! My hubby works as an engineer for a local railroad, so I have a soft spot for a little boy in an engineer hat! =]
OHH, I really like Megan’s idea for a ticket or boarding pass invite! So cute!! =]
I’m so glad to hear you’re feeling better
I have been thinking about you all weekend!
