I Love You To The Bed Bugs Bite

Sweet, sweet baby. Okay, so he isn’t exactly a baby anymore since he is just days shy of his fourth birthday, be he will forever be MY baby.
As I sit here in the silence of the morning listening to the playlist on my blog, I am kinda sad. I wasn’t at all sad when I snapped these Thursday afternoon of my sleeping prince, but with the reality that yet another over the top party is just hours away and we are celebrating Huntler turning four, I can’t help but be reflective. I mean, FOUR??? What happened to the days when time stood still? And what happened to birthdays one, two and three? I remember those parties like they were just yesterday…it is hard to wrap my mind around the fact that this is his fourth.
But for every ounce of me that is having trouble facing the reality that my little man is growing up before my very eyes (at warp speed no less), I am equally as excited. If you could just for one moment peek your head in here and see, hear, and feel the excitement that exudes from his little body, you would get it! There is no time to be sad and feel sorry for myself during the day. For you see, we are too busy being happy and counting down until the big event! Huntler is excited beyond belief to be having so many of his friends over this afternoon to eat, play, and celebrate with him. The fact that they will come bearing gifts only adds to the excitement!

Here are a few more shots to share with you before I head downstairs and get to work on all the “day of” party stuff! I took the kids to get their hair cut Thursday right after school and Huntler was so tired sitting in his little airplane that he could hardly hold his head up! That afternoon he crashed on my bed and within minutes of laying down he was out like a light. I of course could not pass up the photo op! One of my all time favorite subjects laying there and not protesting?! You bet I am going to whip out the camera! His little hand was positioned so sweetly next to his face.

Almost four.
So big, so smart.
Learning and loving every. single. day.
Compassionate. Thoughtful.
Deep brown eyes.
Wise beyond his years.
His daddy’s shadow and his mommy’s heart.
An utter chatterbox since starting school.
Doting big brother.
Huntler Gavin.
Almost four.

In case you are wondering about the title, for the longest time Huntler has told us “I Love You To The Bed Bugs Bite” when he goes to bed! We always say things like, “I Love You To The Moon And Back” or “I Love You To The Stars And Back,” but somewhere in there Huntler coined his own little phrase and it is so much a part of our nightly routine with him. Huntler, “I Love YOU To The Bed Bugs Bite” and I always, always will sweet boy.
