So let me just share that I feel like a whole new person now that the weight of the party and then the mega post is off my shoulders! I might just rejoin the land of daily blogging!! WAHOO!! Thank you to everyone who emailed me or left a comment!! I truly had a ball working on this party and loved what we ended up with after all of that hard work!!
Yesterday I spent the entire day cleaning the upstairs. The whole house has pretty much been ignored lately because I simply don’t really love to clean, but I scrubbed the downstairs before the party and now that it is all put back together, I figured I may as well tackle the upstairs so that we can relish in a clean house…for just a bit anyway!
Because I haven’t really posted much other than party hoopla for the last, oh forever, I thought I would post some random bits today! I have tons and tons and tons of pictures to edit and will post those as I get to them!

We took the binky away from Gentry on Monday. Chris started telling her weeks ago that when she turned three it had to go. I was DREADING it! First of all, she has been a binky girl since she was brand new and she carried that binky around everywhere with her. Second of all, she may quite possibly be our last baby and that was the one baby like thing left about her so I wasn’t ready to see it go. Chris was planning to just throw it away but I suggested maybe he just cut the end off so that she would still have at least part of it even though she couldn’t suck on it. So that is what he did. She watched and was mad, but she didn’t cry. And she hasn’t had any trouble getting to sleep without it. She is still carrying it around and takes it everywhere with her though! In fact, she is sitting on my lap and it is right here by the keyboard!

Huntler is not having a party this year. I know, pick yourself back up off the ground! I was shocked too!! When we were back in Kansas, Chris mentioned going to Legoland for his birthday. While I wanted to cry because I just can’t fathom NOT having a party, Huntler was estatic! Those of you who know me know that I can’t do anything small scale. If I even attempted to do a party, it would cost a fortune and turn into something far more elaborate than I intended. So, we simply aren’t having one! We’ll do a cake or cupcakes on his actual birthday and celebrate as a family, but at some point this fall, we are headed to Legoland for the big celebration!
Speaking of Huntler, he starts school August 3. Like just over a week people!! What in the world happened to the summer? I can’t believe he is going back already!
And still speaking of Huntler, he had two cavities filled this week. I took the kids in last week for cleanings. Huntler did great and Gentry, well, not so much. There was crying…and a lot of it. Then there was flat refusal to even acknowledge the dentist. I think she thought if she just pretended he wasn’t there he would go away! And he did! We don’t take them to a pediatric dentist {although they suggested I take Gentry to one from now on!} but they are super great with kids! They didn’t want to traumatize her so they just let her be. Anyway…back to Huntler. He had two cavities filled with only nitrous oxide to take the edge off and didn’t make a peep!! I was SO nervous for him, but he did AMAZING! I am beginning to think that the kids might have been cursed with my super cavity prone teeth! BUMMER for them…I have more fillings than I could even tell you about!
I want this sweater. Badly. How cute would my fashionista look sporting that this winter with some dark jeans? Too cute for words? That’s what I was thinking too! {Sorry it is so darn tiny…I have issues getting stuff off of some websites and this is one of them!!}
Are you guys keeping up with all the Jon {from Jon and Kate} drama? What is up with him? On the French Riviera a couple of weeks ago with one girl and in the Hamptons with another this week? And only filing for divorce a month ago? Dude…you are losing respect like crazy!
I am thinking about joining the wide world of Facebookers out there. I created an account back in December but quickly deleted it when I was getting bombarded with friend requests! I couldn’t handle the stress!! So many of my friends are non bloggers but avid Facebookers that I am thinking I am going to have to be the one to bend and join!!
Hmmm…I guess that is about it!! I started this post this morning and am only just now finishing it. It has been one of those days!! Hope you are all happy and well out there in blogland!

Yay join facebook! And in case I didn’t get to tell you yet…that party was too die for…I have started planning the boys’ parties and Miss Lily’s first. I may need some help! And we did Disney one year instead of a party. Jackson didn’t know the difference!
And..also..if you have any cute ideas for a first girly birthday party, I would love to hear about it.
I HATED when I had to take the binky away….and let me tell you, I would have let her have it long past getting her high school diploma had her teeth not started to get bucky. She LOVED her binky like no other! Your pictures of G make me miss the little…I can’t believe my baby starts kindergarten in 2 weeks!
Ohhhh and the dentist…I took Sutton when she was about 2 and she had an absolute fit…crying…kicking…gagging…the whole 9 yards. I wanted to die, she NEVER acts like that…well not in public at least…ha! They let her be and I waited about 6 months brought her back and she was an angel. I think they just get really scared and don’t know what to do. We do take her to a pediatric one and her dentist is a girl and I think that helps. There’s lots of fun stuff to look at and they give them a great goodie bag even if they’re a little naughty!
BTW…how cute are her little bitty polished toe nails in the last pic!
I just started Madison on a binky today! She is so clingy to me and I wanted her to have something to soothe herself with, so I thought a binky might help when I can’t be with her. Or when I just need to cook dinner or take a shower! She seems to really like it! I think some kids are more “oral” than others. Abbey never cared for a binky one bit. My friend buried her daughter’s binky in a flower pot and the binky “grew” into a flower! I am so sentimental, I think I wouldn’t want it thrown out or cut because I’d want to put it in her baby box!

Same thing happened to me when I joined Facebook. I deleted my account after about two weeks. I’m a blog girl all the way!
I’m actually not shocked that you aren’t having a huge party for Huntler. I’m sure you could use a breather after all of the work you put into the Candy Shoppe Party! I am glad there are people out there who are willing to put that much work into a party, because I like to see the pics, but I would never have enough energy for all of that! Abbey’s party this year is going to be short and sweet, but Brian’s is going to be BIG!
Wow! Way to go! It sounds like Gentry is doing great without her binky! We have two thumb suckers at our house!
I am taking Kamree in for her first dental cleaning soon and this post makes me nervous! We don’t go to a pediatric dentist either, but our dentist is super good with kids. I hope Kamree isn’t traumatized for life!

Those binky pics are priceless! Love 2 BINKIES and SWIMMING with a binks! My daughther was Binky baby too forever. We just quit cold turkey and never looked back. Out of site out of mind! I literally played dumb when she would ask where it went. Eventually she forgot too!
