Ten on Tuesday

1. I only get the mail about every three days. We rarely get anything “fun” and although the mailbox isn’t all that far, when it is super hot out like it is now, the heat just radiates off the asphalt and I can barely make myself trek down to it!

2. I recently bought some Suave kid’s shampoo and LOVE it!! Why have I been using baby wash on my kids’ hair for the last two years? It smells yummy, but the best thing is that it is shampoo/conditioner and Gentry has NO tangles! Not that she had many to begin with, but her hair is so soft and smooth these days!

3. My kids absolutely love Jon and Kate Plus 8! Huntler sits as still and attentive as an adult…he is totally drawn in by the kids! They are his age and he is just fascinated by them! And then there is Gentry who watches as intently as a three year old possibly can! Which means up and down and jabbering a mile a minute!! The funny thing about her though is that she calls is Jon and Cake. Love it!

4. I REFUSED to eat Chinese until I was pregnant with Huntler. I am super picky and finicky about food and don’t venture much outside of my chicken strip/hamburger world! I know…I am probably missing out on a lot of great stuff! Anyway, I am not sure what compelled me, but I vividly remember Chris and I going to lunch at a Chinese restaurant after one of my doctor’s appointments. I don’t do “buffet style” Chinese, but I do love a good sit down restuarant!! MMMMM! I will say that the only thing I eat is Sweet and Sour Chicken, but still…at least I am eating something different!!

5. I was getting the kids boxes of raisins out of the pantry the other day and totally had a flashback to the California Raisin toys that used to come in happy meals. Remember those? My sis and I had a whole collection! There was a little raisin guy on the box and he took me on a little trip down memory lane! Funny how bits and pieces of the past pop into your mind randomly like that!!

6. We no longer eat ground beef but ground turkey instead. We are big fans of “The Biggest Loser” and have made the switch to the Jennie O turkey they are always talking about! I will say that I did notice at first, but now I think NOTHING of it!

7. We went to Gymboree on Saturday. They are having a big “Back to School” sale and the coat I wanted for Gentry was on sale for $20 {regularly $39}. The sale price paired with my handy 20% off coupon meant I was only going to be paying $16 for it! YAY! WAS, however, is the key word. The coat was completely sold out online and they only had one left in the entire store and it was an XL. Insane, right? Because it has been triple digits and most of those over 110 lately here and the store was sold out? Of winter coats? I could not believe it! But I am not too worried…I did manage to find a coat for Huntler that I love and I am certain that I will find something even cuter for Gentry as fall gets closer!

8. I have been seeing lizards ALL over the place around our house…outside. We will have lived here three year in September and I think I can safely say that up until probably 3 months ago, we only saw a handful of lizards scampering about our parts. Then we saw just a couple. I convinced myself that there were just two or three, a family, and we were seeing the same ones over and over again. Well, that was all fine and dandy until I started seeing them out front, two together at a time, a huge one running across our backyard, lizards climbing up the fence and into the neighbor’s yard and back again…you get the picture. I have no clue how many of the little critters actually call our yard home, but more than I would like! HOWEVER, that being said, I will take lizards any day over scorpions! As far “out” as we live, we are fortunate not to have a scorpion problem as a lot of people down here do!

9. I had over 1600 hits on my blog last week! I know that isn’t a whole ton in the grand scheme of blogging, but it is certainly more than I ever thought I would get when I started this adventure last year!! Now…if only I would start getting more comments!!

10. I am putting Gentry in dance starting tomorrow! EEK! And I am super excited, can ya tell? Since she is still so young, she is actually going to be in more of a dance/play class where they do some tumbling, creative dance play and that sort of thing. Not a whole lot of focus on the moves at this point! She is pretty clingy to me, I am trying to start getting her to gain more independence and thought this might be a place to start. I have to stay {and maybe even participate}, but getting her out and involved will be good for her! Now my big dilemma is what to dress her in! She doesn’t have to wear dance clothes but oh how CUTE she would be in a leotard and ballet shoes with her hair all curled up cute! She is actually very excited! Ever since I mentioned it she has been asking about “dance class!” It is one day a week and for an hour!

One more thing…Allikaye is starting dance next week too! And I am going to have her wear a little leotard and ballet slippers…she is so excited! And I think I am more!! Oh Gentry in a leotard and her hair in a bun…that would be super cute!! I can NOT wait for dance class with lily. The boys are in gymnastics to get energy out, not that I dream of them being in the Olympics. ;-) Anyhow, they have a blast!!

I check your blog alot but sometimes, my computer won’t let me leave a comment. Seriously…it’s happened a bunch of times and I have no patience so I say I will come back and do it another time!

My kids love Jon and Cake Plus 8 too! We just started watching it before the big break up! It makes me sooo sad!

I didn’t eat Chinese food for years either but now I absolutely love it! You must try Sesame Chicken sometime. I actually crave it (the salt) now!

I think Gentry must have a cute leotard for dance class! I am signing Kamree up soon and I can’t wait!

Great job on eating ground turkey. We should make the change too! We are living large at our house right now!

I love reading your “Ten on Tuesday” post. I learn so much from you. I feel like I know you for years….so fun! You crack me up about the food….I was going to offer to make you some really yummy Mexican food, but you may hate it..haha! I need to try ground turkey too…thanks for sharing that. Oh I hate bugs, insects, etc.. I’ve never seen a scorpion (knock on wood) and we’ve lived in Az for 8 years! Lizards are gross too! I know you have read “Kellys Korner” blog and some people have asked how does she gets so many comments. I think she suggested to leave comments on other blogs and people will leave you comments. I know this isn’t necessarily true with everyone, but I agree with her. If you want people to leave comments, then we should too…don’t you think?

I can’t wait to see some pictures Gentry in her little dance outfits. She’s going to love it! So much fun!

Oh why did you have to talk about Chinese food! Now it’s on the brain and I can’t get it out! This preggo lady is now on a mission. :)

I love Jon & Kate as well!

Very exciting about dance classes! I’m sure there will be some priceless photos to come.

Y’all try to stay cool out there! I too, am already on the lookout for a winter coat for my little one. Crazy isn’t it.

LOVE the 10 on Tuesday! Maybe I’ll start something similar soon :)
I will have to try the ground turkey! We are beef lovers here, so I’m sure my hubby wouldn’t be too happy about a total no beef rule!

Oh, Gentry girl will love dance! I have such great memories {and pictures-ha} from dancing as a little girl. Still have all my tiny tap shoes, ballet slippers and recital outfits too! Have a great day~

  9. Oh, I remember the Raisins! I even dressed up as one during halloween when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade. FUN TIMES!

Congrats on all your hits. Visit blogs and comment on theirs…..they will return the favor! I gave you some linky love the other day on my blog.
