Trick or Treat

Here are just a few quick shots {read: VERY little editing because otherwise I may never get them posted!!} of the kids from last night! I think they had a fun time trick or treating, but it just wasn’t the same this year. So many of the houses in our section of the subdivision are sitting empty which made for a lot of dark houses and huge gaps between porch lights. It was so sad and desolate…I told Chris it was almost like a ghost town. But considering the kids were whining and asking to go home just a half a block into the night, we were able to work with it!

It is amazing how well you can get kids to cooperate when they are faunching at the bit to get to the birthday party next door and jump in the bounce house with their little neighbor friend! All I had to say was, “If you both just look at the camera we can go to the party!” Simplest photo I have ever attempted with both of them! Chris wasn’t even outside helping me on this one!

Our little urban cowboy! Several people, including Huntler, asked me if he was going to wear boots. Considering I spent a small fortune on his costume alone, I wasn’t about to spend even more on boots he would wear once! So I got this wonderful idea that he was going to wear his shiny little black shoes and we would call him an “urban” cowboy! You couldn’t even see his shoes anyway so it really didn’t matter in the end!

He looked so sweet in his costume! I can’t believe he is five and still not into any of the superheroes or scary stuff! NO, I am not complaining…I want to keep him innocent and little forever! But that doesn’t mean I’m not surprised!

Gentry had the perfect costume for her this year! She absolutely LOVES pigs, loves them. She looked so stinking cute in her little pig ensemble! Funny though in the times she has worn it that there have been people who think she is Little Bo Peep or a sheep. Really? She looks like a pig to me!

A little hand holding between houses! Loved it when there were two houses in a row with porch lights on!

And home again, home again. We have taken the wagon with us for three years now. PERFECT way to Trick or Treat! Our kids tend to get a little whiny and this helps keep them content and keeps us moving along a little faster than a snail’s pace!

Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween!
