Home. After two weeks of traveling about the midwest and many, many, many hours in the car, we are home. As wonderful as it is to go and visit and celebrate the holidays with those we love most in this world, after two weeks of living out of suitcases and be-bopping around from place to place and bed to bed, it is nice to be back in our own home and to now begin the process of getting everything unpacked and put away. We only just got in at 1:15 this morning and my mind is reeling with ideas of everything I want to tackle! The problem is, I want it done and I want it done now!! However, with five suitcases stuffed to the gills with clothing and shoes for four people for two weeks as well as WAY too many gifts to unpack, I have to wait to jump into my organizing and sorting kick until I at least have the clothes and “stuff” put away!
But wait I will do! I want to do it and do it right so once we have the bulk of everything put back where it belongs, I will take one room at a time and clean it top to bottom as well as sort through every nook and cranny until I have all of the “junk” gone and make room for the new!! My OCD and extreme need for control are always in prime form at the beginning of the year!!
After my month long posting hiatus, I am more than ready and excited to get back into the swing of blogging in 2010! I have so much I want to share…everything from fun baby updates to party planning to Etsy finds to photography! I have also challenged myself to take a photo a day and blog it. Obviously when we are out of town or in the hospital having this baby I won’t be able to do so, but for the most part, I am hoping to stick with it! They aren’t all going to be perfectly edited or even super fab shots, but they will be memories and treasures. There is a photographer I follow who participated in something she called Project 52 last year where she blogged a photo every week that included her with all or some of her kids. LOVE that…as a mom and a photographer, I am rarely on the other side of the camera! While I don’t particularly love sifting through images of myself, I do know that they are photos that will forever be cherished by the kids. So there is one of my goals for 2010…I’ll share more on my other goals later!
Here is the first of my photo a day shots…a quick one from yesterday of our van loaded down! OH MY we came home with so.much.stuff. Everything from a brand new carseat/stroller travel system for the baby to photo props to a turkey fryer to everything doll you can imagine to Trio blocks and Thomas the Train toys…and much, much more.

And on that note, I am off! Not only do we have all of this to tackle, our yard is out of control AND all of our Christmas stuff is still up and needs taken down! Happy 2010 everyone! See you all soon – this girl has some major work to do!

glad you made it home safe!
I agree — there is no place like home! I can’t even imagine being gone for two weeks! You are going to be one busy mama!
Hope you have a Happy New Year!
Well, I posted pics (or was it an email?) the day I had BOTH of my babies! Just make sure your hubby packs a laptop and it’s totally doable!
Everything you said in this post is stuff I’ve been thinking lately too. I’m in the mood to clean out every room and get organized for the new year. I took down the Christmas decor two days after Christmas, but I keep finding things all over.
I can feel your energy in this post. Are you in your second trimester now? It’s like you are out of the tired phase and have a burst of energy. I always think if I got pregnant with a third child, I would throw in the towel and surrender and never leave the house again or try to accomplish anything. I would feel outnumbered and overwhelmed. I think I’m happy with two kids, at least for now!
BTW: Don’t worry about trying to catch up with my blog. I’ve been way too wordy lately and I know it. I don’t really expect people to read all of that, especially during this busy time of year. I just like to journal it for my blog book. And I’m sure the grandma’s gobble it up!
