A Little About Me

So this is me, Bethany, the face behind Hissyfits Photography. Although I absolutely adore capturing priceless moments for my own family as well as for others, my *love* of being in front of the camera isn’t quite as strong! Believe me when I say I am beyond hesitant to plaster this image on my blog for the world to see! But with that being said, I think so much of choosing a photographer is finding someone you connect with. Someone whose style you love and whose images speak to you. Someone you feel as though you can relate to. Having an image in your mind of the voice behind the words and the face behind the lens is imperative!

So sit down and get comfy as you browse through the entries and learn a little {or a lot} about who I am! And in case you are new to my site, I’ll shed just a little light for you! I am happily married to the love of my life, Chris. His unconditional love, encouragement and support are THE reasons Hissyfits is even here! We have one handsome little fella, Huntler, who is growing up all too fast! He is the proud big bro to his sassy lil’ sis, Gentry. These two sweets could not be more different! They bring so much life and happiness to our home each and every day. They are my inspiration and the reason I strive to grow and learn every single day in this fabulous field of photography.

Because for me photography is such a personal thing, it just isn’t realistic to keep a separate “personal” blog, so be prepared to see lots of images {some of which will simply be snapshots} of the aforementioned sweets and read stories of our daily life! You can also expect to see pictures of my shopping finds, hear my thoughts on the latest reality television show as well as catch a glimpse of all sorts of party planning hoopla {another great love}!

But this blog is about so much more than just that these days…it is about sharing my passion for photography with others. I have always loved taking pictures, but once I had kids of my own, I found I was looking at life in a completely different way. My love of capturing those once in a lifetime moments has only grown with time. It is about preserving memories and savoring the sweetness of each of my babes at these tender phases that only happen once…and pass all too quickly. The innocent smiles that grace the face of a baby who recognizes her parents. The crocodile tears that roll down the chubby cheeks of a heartbroken toddler. The pink cowboy boots and colorful tutu. The grubby hands playing trains in the dirt. The eyelashes. The feet. The little bellies. The siblings and families simply being. The laughter. The tears. The memories. The details. The moments that define each of us.
